The small city of Patterson New Jersey was founded on November 22, 1791, as a township and then reincorporated in 1851 as a city.It’s known as the “Silk” city due to its major silk production during the industrial revolution.It would be here in the early hours of June 17, 1966, the shot rang out inside the Lafayette Grill would dip the Patterson into mystery and controversy for more than thirty years.

Bay Village lays in North East right next to Lake Erie.It started out as land owned by Connecticut then Ohio became a state at that time the land was given over to Connecticut citizens as their homes had been destroyed due to the Revolutionary War.It was in this town now with a population of around 15,000 that neurosurgeon Sam Sheppard killed his wife, except he didn’t… and then they made a TV show about it.
