On September 5, 1891, the residents of Crawfordsville, Indiana, looked up at the sky and saw something that defied explanation. It’s a massive, eighteen-foot-long, and eight-foot-wide object with several pairs of side fins that allow it to glide through the air. But this isn’t any ordinary flying machine – it’s a “horrible apparition” that strikes fear into the hearts of those who see it. As it moves closer, they notice its pure white color and lack of a definite shape, making it look like a giant white shroud with propelling fins. There’s no visible head or tail, but it emits a wheezing, melancholy sound that sends shivers down their spines. And if that’s not enough, it has one large flaming eye that seems to be staring at them.
