Spread the love

On this week’s episode I continue the spooky Halloween episodes with another one that gives me the heebie jeebies, the Wendigo. A wendigo is an indigenous American evil spirit of the forests of Canada but can sometimes be found in the northern states of Minnesota and Wisconsin and according to a story I found online right here on Pikes Peak, so that doesn’t make me very happy. It was said that there was once a hunter that got lost in the woods and resorted to cannibalism to survive. He was cursed for this and started having an insatiable taste for human flesh that corrupted his body and mind. The Wendigo has become pretty popular in pop culture today but according to native americans it is something that shouldn’t be taken lightly because it is pure evil. In fact one of the translations I found for Wendigo is “the evil spirit that devours mankind.”
