Mercyhurst University is one of the Erie’s best colleges students can attend. They’ve got a robust catalogue of degree options to choose from a beautiful campus to explore, and a plethora of sports teams to cheer on. Mercyhurst also has the best ghost stories in the area. This historic campus has it all from cursed rings, tragic deaths, exploding mirrors, mysteries, and even the ghost of a nun that still walks the halls. Many people allege that these are just ghost stories and legends, nothing more to scare incoming freshman. However, there are those who claim to have had a terrifying encounter or two with these ghosts. In part one of this two part special we dive into the history behind Mercyhurst and some of its more famous ghost stories. The second part will show the footage we got while traveling throughout the campus and its haunted buildings.
