The small town of Chadd’s Ford, Pennsylvania doesn’t seem like much on the surface. East of Philadelphia, this town has a population of less than 4,000 and is known mostly for its wineries and museums. Driving through this rural area would leave you with a peaceful feeling. However, that feeling erodes when you drive down Cossart Road. There is a house on this hill steeped in darkness, known as The Cult House. The wealthy DuPont family lived in this house but a paranoia about their fortune led to some disturbing acts. Their want for a pure bloodline led them to incestuous relationships. Legend says that eventually the babies were so deformed that family took to burying them beneath the fabled Skull Tree. Now, the house is rumored to be a hot spot for cult activities including human sacrifices. These legends and rumors have led to Cossart Road receiving a new name, Devil’s Road.
