During the Cold War, the United States Navy began constructing an elaborate underwater grid of listening devices, called hydrophones, throughout the ocean floor. When the grid was later given to oceanographers to use in environmental research, a strange, unexplained noise would be picked up on two hydrophones 3,000 miles apart. Could this noise have been linked to The Black Carpet or The Black Diver?
