Dagon: Ancient Mesopotamian Diety

Dagon might sound like a familiar figure, if you are a fan of H.P.Lovecraft and the Cthulhu Mythos.   However, the origins of Dagon reach back to Bronze Age  Mesopotamia, additionally, he is mentioned numerous times throughout the Old Testament.  Dagon was the primary deity of the Philistines and was envisioned as half-man/half-fish that was a provider of grain and bounty.
