On August 13, 1956, a very strange and inexplicable series of radar anomalies and aerial lights were seen over the course of about 6 hours, spanning two military bases in the UK. The bases reported on it. Blue Book Reported on it. The Condon Committee reported on it. All to no real resolution as to what caused it or what multiple radars, different systems, separate locations and multiple ground observers saw that night.

The similarity between historical folklore and our modern day stories of Alien encounters and UFO sightings, is undeniable. Fairy abduction is eerily similar to Alien abduction. Many UFO sightings and experiences with high strangeness have a psycho-reactive element. And seemingly valid occurrences of crop circles and cow mutilation seem to only occur on organic farms and fields. Why? How? What – is going on, here?! My guest, today, can shed some light.

We’re divin’ deep, today! The journey through the history of UFO sightings is long and arduous…but as illuminating as the lights on these objects, themselves. Some of these stories we’ll cover, can very easily be explained. Others, not so much. Some of them can only be taken anecdotally due to lack of supporting evidence and some are just too dramatic to be believed. But, all – remain compelling, for one reason or another. An inconvenient fact for the skeptical is that strange objects have been seen in the sky far earlier than the 1940’s. But as long as this phenomenon has taken place, it seems so too has the phenomenon of flexibly explaining it away. Whether the go-to explanation was signs from heaven and angels to blimps or drones…these objects, however so inconveniently, have remained the same.

A Left-Handed Ghost. A grinning apparition in a Top Hat. An unusual, metallic object making impossible maneuvers in the skies. Charles Cha, has experienced some pretty mysterious things in his life. People are seeing objects in the sky they cannot explain. Military and commercial pilots are encountering highly advanced technological anomalies they cannot explain. The skeptical easily dismisses extraordinary events that they cannot explain. Despite evidence and credibility of the witnesses. But the facts remain; there is a mystery of the supernatural sort, taking place in our physical world. Has been taking place on the public stage for over 70 years. And we can see possible nods to folks encountering the same mysterious objects well into our history. So…what is it? What have people been seeing for centuries? Though the explanations may have changed and evolved with society, these unidentified flying objects… persevere.
